Transparent Mobile Phone

Those crazy cats at Yanko Design are at it again, this time presenting to us the "What You See Is What You Get" mobile phone featuring a clear upper section as a photo viewfinder. This way, you don't get the image filtered through an LCD screen: what you see really is what you get.

Designed by Pei-Hua Huang, an Industrial Design grad from NC State University, this concept project also comes with a full QVGA touchscreen display that adjusts to your needs, providing a keypad when you want to make a call, for example. Embedded in the clear section is a 50mm equivalent camera module good for snapshots with resolutions as high as three megapixels. The rest of the time, the clear part is pretty much useless.

iPhone, eat your heart out?
