30 Years of Video Game Consoles

The Evolution of the Games Console - video powered by Metacafe

It’s hard to believe video game consoles have been around for more than 30 years! The video shows the evolution of this entertainment gadget from the Magnavox Oydessy in 1972 to the most recent Wii. Each of these were the very latest technology of their time. My first video game console was a CBS Coleco Vision which my dad bought it back in the early 80s. It was no where near the quality of today's game technology but at the time when i had it, it was probably the coolest thing.

Do you remember the very first Nintendo back in 1985? It was a best selling video game console - 62 million units worldwide. Yet, the graphics look positively childish today. Evolution is good - today’s coolest game console will soon enough become dated and we will move on to the next entertainment leader. Enjoy the evolution.
