Michael Phelps had finally made it 8 gold medals out of 8 events that he had participated and at the same time created 7 world and 1 Olympic records. Of course out of the 8 gold medals, 3 came from the team relay events where his team had provided a stunning performance helping Phelps to achieve his dream of 8 gold medals.
Most of the events Phelps had won with a decent margin except for 100 meter butterfly where he had almost lost to Serbia's Milorad Cavic. The winning margin was only 0.01.
