Opera browser surges in Asia Pac

The mobile web is replacing the wired web in South East Asia. Opera latest State of the Mobile Web report reveals that in many Southeast Asian countries the mobile Web exists not because it complements wired access, but replaces it. Page views grew more than 1120 per cent in the Philippines this year, while there was 330 per cent user growth and 827 per cent page view growth in 2008 in Indonesia.

There is an incredible appetite in Southeast Asia for the mobile Web and many are relying on Opera to browse the mobile internet including myself. The user experience is the closest that you can get to the Safari browser on the iPhone.
